I have some exciting stuff in the works! And it's REALLY happening! I'm soooo excited to share it with you!!! I've designed a new digital kit that will be different than anything out there in the scrappy world. I'm totally excited. I've hand drawn and hand painted each one of the images. You will be able to use them on traditional scrapbooking projects by printing them out and cutting them out like stickers or die-cuts... add buttons and bows or bling to them if you want.... OR for those who LOVE and use ALL DIGITAL.... this will be a fun kit for you too!!!!

In honor of us moving home next month.... I'm calling it "Home Is Where the Heart Is". My love of drawing and painting meets digital and traditional scrapbooking!!!!

I didn't make the Spellbinders 2012 Design Team cuts. It was so fun while it lasted. A fabulous company to work for. Really, really bummed about this but life goes on right? Spellbinders Labels Twenty Five LOVE!

Hey there! This post is for those of you out there who are dying to see some of the Spellbinders new releases in action! I created this card..... super simple! Using the new Labels Twenty Five. I am pretty certain this will be a new favorite "go-to" set for me! This card was really simple but the label makes it interesting and fun! I created some word art that fit perfectly and added some bling and ribbon... oh and a little machine stitching. Easy peasy! Thanks for stopping by!

So..... I survived 24 hours with a house full of ten year old girls! Cassidy's 10th birthday was a hit. She's back at her Dad's house now probably taking a nap since they didn't fall asleep until 3am this morning. LOL I should have taken one myself but there is that thing called "damage patrol" which Momma doesn't seem to get out of. But cleaning up and then sneaking in some scrappy time was a must today. I will share what I created but first... here's a picture of the big 10yr old and then all of her buddies that were over. It was fun. Glad it's over. Hee hee! The photo of all the girls was one I took on my phone so it's kind of crappy. But you see how happy they all are!

I'm so excited to share this layout I scrapped today. Renee let me play with these photos she took of her sweet baby Emma. There's a challenge that ends today over on the My Mind's Eye Blog and the winner gets to choose THREE complete lines as the prize! That was the motivation for me! I am a HUGE MME fan and love EVERYTHING they manufacture so I thought I would play along and cross my fingers. We will see! The challenge was to use this sketch then create a layout with a "NEW" theme. Of course with these sweet papers and Emma's adorable pictures.... this was a match made in scrappy heaven! Thanks Renee for sharing!

Hey there!

I've been playing with paper today and thought I would share this fun tag I created for a challenge over at My Scrapbook Nook. These Vintage Cupids by Jolee's have been in my scrap-stash forever so I was excited to use one on this. Anyway..... I love you guys! Thanks for all the love you give my passion with paper!

Now I'm off to put together goodie-bags for Cassidy's birthday party/sleepover tomorrow night! She will be offically into double-digits! My big 10 yr old! Crazy! See this adorable girl and that super fun and stylish

headband she’s wearing?

Well, that girl is my sweet daughter Cassidy Jo and that headband is what I created using some fabulous new products from Spellbinders and I’m totally excited to share!

The first thing I did was diecut/emboss the flowers in the Spellbinders Grand Calibur® machine.

I used the fantastic new S4-355 Layered Flowers set. I cut them from Spellbinders™ Delicate Pastels Premium Craft Foils. I chose aqua and purple to use for the top flowers then silver for the bottom flowers. Each colored side of the foils also has a silver side so there is an abundance of that. Here’s a photo of the flowers I cut out and embossed.

Next, I layered the flowers and glued them together using Aleene’s Clear Gel Tacky Glue. I added some flower shaped clear jewels to the centers of each flower to give them some sparkle.

Once the glue is dry you can easily bend and shape the foil flowers to stand up off the base like I’ve shown in the photo below.

Now it’s time to cover the headband using more foil. I found a thick, plain headband at my local dollar store that was perfect for this project. I cut some strips of foil wide enough to cover the headband then embossed them using the new ES-004 Whimsy M-Bossabilities folder. The photos below show the embossing pattern and how pretty it is when done on the foil.

The strips of foil won’t be long enough to use only one so you will have an obvious line where the two pieces cover but that’s okay…. Adding the flowers will cover it up. This next photo shows the headband all covered. Just add glue as you’re wrapping the foil and shaping it to the headband. You can smooth it out underneath. Isn’t it pretty?

Last it’s time to glue on your layered flowers. Here’s my other cute model Macey wearing the headband as well and some better photos of the flowers and embossing. Easy peasy! And CUTE!

I totally forgot to post about my pop-dots so I thought I would update this post with a photo. Not a very good photo... but you get the gist. I've had many of you email me and ask what pop dots I prefer when putting together my card kits. I actually use these on MOST of my scrapbooking and papercrafting projects. These are 1/8" thick and relatively inexpensive. They are the Paper Studio brand made by Hobby Lobby and when they go on sale for 50% off..... I STOCK UP! I use these on EVERYTHING to achieve dimension with my projects. And I LOVE dimesion!!!

Getting Scrappy!

Hey there! How was your Christmas? Ours was good! We have much to be grateful for and are truly blessed. I still can't believe it's already come and gone. All that preparing we do for 20 mins of gift-giving! It's crazy fun! LOL Brody and Chloe were so much fun to watch this year. They were all smiles and Brody was over-the-moon happy about getting candy in his stocking! The kid LOVES some sugar! He is an Angry Birds FREAK! He is constantly on our phones playing every chance he gets. Renee even made a shirt for him for Christmas..... check this out.... isn't he cute? Man I love this kid!

So now that Christmas has come and gone..... I was able to find some time to scrapbook some layouts for me. :) Some fun ones. I know I've scrapped my wedding pics many times but I love them.... LOL.... what can I say? And Shane and I celebrated 5yrs on the 16th so I had marriage and wedding on the brain. :)

I also finally scrapped Cassidy's 9th birthday photos! Love them and have been nervous about scrapping them cause I want to do them justice. Hopefully I did. She's at her Dad's this week for the rest of Christmas break along with Bailee and Macey but I'm anxious to show this to her. I think she will like it. I haven't scrapbooked her in a while. LOL I hand drew the letters for the title work to match the "Love" in her shirt. I was pretty excited with how it turned out.

Okay..... just a quick post tonight. I have some monthly Design Team work to get started on for Spellbinders. I'm soooooo excited cause I made it to the next round of the 2012 DT Competition. Nervous and crossing my fingers to advance again! I love this company and would love to keep creating for them! Okay..... off to design some more!

Holiday fun

Hey there! How are your holiday festivities coming along? I know, if you're like us, there's always a lot to do, and see and much fun to be had. I'm trying to relax and enjoy this time of year. With teenagers and small children I know I need to soak it all in while I can because tomorrow comes too quickly. We have a busy weekend ahead. Shane and I will be married 5yrs on Friday. And Bailee will be turning 14 on Saturday. With team soccer parties, Cassidy's Christmas play tonight, and Basketball games starting Thursday.... the rest of the week is going to fly by. SO..... I thought I would pop in here and say hey and share a few things I've created lately. Some are just because, some are for the holiday and some are for magazine calls.

But before I get to the creative goodies..... I want to share my very favorite things! My sweet family! We ran out of time to take a big family photo with all of us in it. It seems like we are always running in different directions these days. So I had to get creative with the individual shots this year. So excited to stick these in the Christmas cards! I hope ya'll are good and busy and blessed!

Hey there! I hope everyone is getting excited about the Thanksgiving Holiday. Just a couple more days! We love turkey and pumpkin pie around here. But we especially love to hang out and play cards and games and put up the Christmas decorations. Looking forward to it.

I'm always busy creating things. ALWAYS. My Hubby and Kids will tell you. My kitchen table seems to never see the light of day. HA! I thought I would share some of the things I finished this week. I've been creating Christmas card kits for my online friend Ginger for several years now and loving it. This year's card was lots of fun! I found some packages of some SUPER CUTE Christmas tags at Michael's and incorporated them in the card. I can't wait to pick some "tags" up after Christmas on clearance so I can make some card sets next year! They totally make the card!

The next thing I finished, also a custom order for Ginger, was baptism invitations for her daughter who is turning 8 on December 17th. She is being baptized on her 8th birthday just like my Bailee was! How cool is that? I used the new S5-068 Dress Forms die template by Spellbinders to create this beautiful baptism dress invite. I'm super excited with how it turned out.

The other thing I've been super busy getting caught up on is loading a lot of things into my ETSY Shop. Fun things over there so ya better get them before they are gone! Just sayin'! HA! One thing I'm super excited about is my NEW wood Ampersands! I ran across the idea on Pinterest and immediately thought of my cousin Brooke who is an amazing wedding photographer. Click here to check out her photography site. Anyhooooo...... I saw this photo and just KNEW she needed this prop for her business! They are fun and can be used for a variety of things!

Okay...... I think that's it for now.... gonna start my preparations for Turkey Day. And play with my girls who are home this week! I hope everyone enjoys their time with family and friends! Hugs!

Lots going on over here as usual! I'm crafting my fingers off trying to get ready for a Holiday Market that's taking place in Clinton, MS this Saturday. I know I don't post many scrappy projects these days. But I do still scrap! With my Spellbinders projects I am not able to share them right away even though it feels like I am always busy with something. I do finally have some things that I can post though. Speaking of Halloween..... here's a fun digital card I made this weekend for World Cardmaking Day!

I've also been thinking about Christmas and have created a few hybrid projects over the last week or so. I love how easy they are! Design, and cut out! Can't beat that! I created each of these projects in Studio through Heritage makers. Click here to register for a FREE basic account. It's awesome because ANYTHING I create can be transferred to any of my clients and they can easily personalize them, publish them, and make their own fun projects.

Fun stuff huh? I just love this time of year when we get to do holiday crafting and creating!

I'm soooo excited I actually got a little time to play along with this week's Tuesday Trigger over at the Moxie Fab World blog. You can read about the challenge details HERE. Checking in with a couple of layouts

I seriously can't believe it's been a week since I posted last. Feels like I've been living life in the fast lane! New school year means quieter days but much busier nights. Homework, volleyball, soccer.... yeah.... you know. But I'm certainly not complaining. I'm happy when my family is happy.... and they are happy when they stay active and busy.

I haven't been doing too much on the creative side lately... really... it's been one of those low-key months that way. For those of you who are wondering where the September Card kit peeks are.... I've decided to take a break this month. Next month will mark two whole years that I've been doing this monthly kit club now and I have NEVER taken a month off. I was due. I promise to be back in action the first week of October and I have some fun cards planned already! I love HALLOWEEN cards! :)

I did actually get the two layouts below created earlier in the week but never got around to posting them. This is my cute little daycare babe.... Lexie. I took some one year old photos of her for her Momma and decided to scrap one of the pictures from the shoot. THEN...... I was thinking it would be super fun to scrap-lift myself and create a digi version of the same layout using Zoe Pearn's new kit called Indian Summer. I fell in love with it instantly. There's soooo many elements in this kit that are perfect for hybrid scrapping projects. Anyhoooo.... just something I played around with this week.

Inspiration Everywhere....

I wanted to share a digital card I made with a sweet friend in mind. She's in surgery TODAY facing Breast Cancer HEAD ON. She's a champ, a trooper, a hero..... an INSPIRATION to me and lots of other people. I wish she didn't live so far away so I could see her and hug her in person

and tell her I ♥ her.

Here's the digi-card. It's a 5 x 5" size that I am having printed/published through Heritage Makers where I designed it. I can have it shipped directly to my sweet friend! Yay!

And this is the T-Shirt I ran across online that inspired my card!! SUPER easy digi-lift!!! Love how it turned out! Like I said..... all kinds of inspiration everywhere. But these days I'm mostly inspired by AJ. She's a fighter! :) Have a great week!

I know I have talked about my love of Pinterest before.... okay fine..... OBSESSION??? LOL But if you knew the insane amounts of inspiration you could "Pin" over there..... you'd completely understand why I'm hooked! Anytime my mojo goes missing or I'm needing inspired I just browse through my boards and WOW!!!! I literally get the urge to jump off my duff and get creating something! This is how I felt about this piece! I just love Stephanie Ackerman. She's got talent ooozing from every pore. Someone pinned this of hers and that's how I ran across it.

I have been creating quite a few canvases lately and this one just spoke to me so I gave it a whirl! I pretty much tried to recreate the whole thing but my background had to be different since I was creating a 16x20 canvas. Here's my version. I love Pinterest. It's a time-suck if you let it be. But I actually only visit there about 10 mins a day and still find things I will use at some point as inspiration for projects! Love it! Okay... off to create some more! DIGI Challenge winner!

I'm totally stoked! This digital layout I created was a Challenge winner on Club HM today!

I haven't shared this news with my friends and family yet but I am finally "officially" a Heritage Makers Independent Consultant. Here's the link to my digital blog.... http://digiartmadewithheart.blogspot.com/ I am never going to totally give up my paper scrapping but I am really excited about this business so I hope some of you will be too!!! It's been really hard the last 6 months for Shane and I financially.... even harder than it has been.... LOL just like most people these days. So I'm going to work my tushy off at something I'm passionate about so I can hopefully avoid having to work away from my home and children. Here's to success!

Have you ever tried digital scrapbooking? Or had an interest in it? I was totally initimidated by it at first because I thought I would have to know photoshop to create digi-layouts. But using the Studio through Heritage Makers is soooooo easy and fun! NO PHOTOSHOP required! It's like they've taken all the things you would need to use to scrapbook and created a program just for us! I've created cards, mini books, canvases, and layouts. And that's the program I've even been using to create blog banners too! The creative options are endless!

August Card Kit Peeks

Here they are..... finally.... in all their glory! Sorry that August is already half over but this back-to-school stuff and soccer and volleyball in full swing is keeping Momma away from her scrappy table these days! Plus, I've been working on some other artsy fartsy things here locally in my town. More to come on that! Anyhoooo.... I am excited about this kit!!!! I have a "special" shaped card in it that's of the holiday variety. Hee hee! Can't start too early on Christmas right?

Oh..... and I do have ONE July kit left (which is AWESOME btw..) that I haven't been able to collect payment on. The first one to email me at shannavineyard@comcast.net can purchase it. Clocks and Canvases

Are your kiddos starting back to school next week? Mine are. On Tuesday. What the heck right? Where did this summer go? I remember not too many years back when it seemed like they just lasted forever. Not so much anymore. I feel like I didn't really spend a lot of time with them between trips with their Dad and their soccer camps and tournaments... the summer whizzed by! They are excited but feeling the same as I am. School starts EARLY this year. HA!

Anyhooooo... I feel like I haven't shared much scrappy/crafty stuff lately. I've spent a lot of the last few months working on special projects that couldn't be shared online. So I am excited that I made a few things I CAN share.

Spellbinders really out-did themselves with the latest new products release. I'm seriously in LOVE with just about EVERY single thing they revealed at CHA last month. One of my favorites wasn't actually one of my favorites until I started playing with the die templates. Sometimes it's hard to see the limitless potential right away. That's why it's always good to look around online and see how other paper crafters have used them..... to get instantly inspired and then of course find out that you "HAVE to HAVE it" right??? LOL

Here's the S5-074 Retro Mod Clocks set. I was a little intimidated at first with these. But once I started just die cutting paper with them my mind went crazy excited at the possibilities! I have been drawn to purple for a while now and loved the idea of using it in contrast with the browns on this. The Clock face was die cut from Spellbinders Premium Craft Foils - Delicate Pastels then adhered using pop dots for dimension. I've been creating my own word art for my projects lately too so I've shared that below for you to use if you'd like. If you have any questions about this card or what I did..... please don't hesitate to leave a comment and ask! Chances are.... someone else is probably curious too and I will post and help if I can.

Okay..... that's pretty much it for this post but I want to share the latest canvas I made before I head for bed. I'm getting up SUPER EARLY to do a yard sale tomorrow. Too much junk around here and it's time to purge! LOL I've been loving the combination of paints and my scrapbooking supplies on a canvas! It feels like a true piece of art when I'm done with it. I love this 12x12 size too. Didn't take much time at all to create. I wanted to create my little sailboat I designed previously for a card I made. I posted that below so you could see how my card inspired my canvas. With a different quote on it.... That I neeeeeed to apply in my life a little more! LOL I also posted the pattern I drew for the sailboat. So you can give it a whirl if ya like!

Just popping by to say a quick hello. Life has me spinning as usual. The girls start back to school NEXT week on the 9th. So you can imagine how crazy things are around here. I'm still trying to figure out where the summer went! It seems so wrong for them to already be heading back to school.

Okay..... I did it.

I don't know why I am so nervous about this. I've been selling my handmade creations since the beginning of time. HA! But these fun mixed media canvases are just "different" They are "ART" that would actually be displayed on someone's wall in their home. That's a little intimidating even for this seasoned scrapbooker/crafter. And yet very exciting. I've had a couple of people ask about putting them for sale in my ETSY SHOP. So ...... I DID. Yikes! LOL I'm very excited about creating more. Making them personal. Like this one I made for Cassidy. She's my soccer star. The girl eats, breathes, and lives to play soccer. It seemed only natural to create this for her. She's ecstatic! I listed the one I made previously as well for just a sampling of the possibilities. Which are endless really. :) So...... if you'd like to order one. Let me know. Remember..... Christmas is just around the corner and coming much too quickly.

My first attempt at Canvas Art

So I've been uber-inspired by all the mixed media canvas "She-Art" that's been popping up in the bloggy, scrappy world lately. I'm assuming it's been the talented Christy Tomlinson's online She Art class that's been the fuel behind the creative fire! I've tried all kinds of surfaces for creating but had never painted directly onto a canvas before. This strikes me as strange given the love of paint I have always had. But I've always found myself painting on wood. So excited about this new medium and all the fun possibilities! This canvas is 16 x 20. Ya'll know how much I love bright colors and polka dots! Wouldn't be mine without some! Anyhoo..... What do ya think? Is she fun or what?

So if you are pretty active in the ONLINE world of scrapbooking.... you know how crazy this time of year can get as all the manufacturers are busy getting ready to head to CHA to reveal their summer releases. Altered Tote Bag

I can't wait until these new Spellbinders Die Templates start shipping! I'm excited to see what everyone else creates with these amazing new dies! It's really not fair that I get to have all the fun right? I played some more with them this weekend so I thought I would share what I made.

I found this SUPER cute pink canvas tote bag at Hobby Lobby back in February. It was in the after Valentine's Clearance section for 80% off. This is my favorite time to go browse for crafty alterables because I can find things for a dollar or less. Awesome stuff!

Since I'm such a nut for dimension and texture... I have been playing a lot lately with the funky foam you can buy at any craft store. The die templates cut through it like butter and its thick and colorful and you can even get it already glittered. When I cut the Spiral Blossom Two flowers out to decorate this tote with I used the funky foam that comes backed with adhesive. This made it SUPER EASY to wind the Blossoms and not worry about glue. Once I created the flowers in the colors I wanted I just hand-sewed them onto the bag. I also added some green trim and clear bling for added details. Along with the buttons and baker's twine.

What do you think? Super fun right? I'm totally excited for my girls to see it. They are at their Dad's house this weekend but will be home tomorrow. They have been waiting to see what I was going to do with this tote bag. LOL I think they will like it!

I’m thrilled to share two projects using S5-060 Flower Pots and S4-352 Spiral Blossom Two with you...

Once I had an idea of what I wanted to do on this layout I started by cutting/embossing my shapes using the Grand Calibur™ Machine. I used the S4-352 Spiral Blossom Two die template to cut/emboss three different colored flowers then I sanded the edges of the paper ones… the pink one is cut from pink glittered Funky Foam I purchased from Hobby Lobby. It’s fun stuff!

Once I sanded them then I was ready to wind them and turn them into flowers. I wanted the pink flower to be the largest in the bunch so I kept the center opened wider as I wound it around adding a little Zip Dry paper glue as I kept winding.

Next I wound the teal colored flower. I kept the center a little tighter to keep this flower smaller than the pink flower. Again, I used Zip Dry by Beacon Adhesives to hold the flower as it was rolled.

The orange flower was created differently. I cut up several lengths, rolled them and glued them. I nested them together, added more glue to the round center and created a tight looking flower.

Here’s what the flowers looked like all glued together and before I added their different centers to them. Pretty fun huh?

Next I cut/embossed the leaves from the Rose Creations set making three of the largest leaves and two of the middle sized one. I love sanding the paper so the embossing stands out and gives the shapes a little more detail. Once I cut/embossed and sanded then I glued the bottom round tips of just the very ends of each leaf together. This adds dimension and makes them stand up a little on the page.

Next I cut/embossed the S5-060 Flower Pots, which I used for the flowers and the banners.

To create the flower pot I cut the top off from notch to notch then sanded this piece and the bottom part. I adhered this to the top of the pot using pop dots to add dimension.

Next I sanded each of the smaller flower pots. To make them into a banner I punched small holes and threaded them onto baker’s twine. I tied a bow at both ends.

Now it’s time to put everything together on the actual layout and watch this fun little creation come to life.

--Using the background paper from KaiserCraft’s Timeless collection “Newsprint” I inked the edges with Colorbox Chestnut Roan ink to age it a bit then added a zig-zag machine stitched border around the edge.

--Next I adhered the Grand Labels Four piece I cut/embossed, sanded and inked using Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker Summer “Lemonade” paper.

--After mounting my sweet 5” x 7” Chloe photo onto plain white cardstock I added some inking to the edges of the cardstock and a machine stitched border right onto the photo then adhered it to the layout across the Grand Label Four piece.

--Next I adhered the banner I created using pop dots for dimension up in the left hand corner of the layout like pictured.

--Then using the multi-colored ribbon from Hobby Lobby I tied a bow around the top of the flower pot then glued this down on the layout as shown.

--Next it was time to glue down my flowers then add the Want To Scrap self-adhesive pink pearls to the center of the pink flower, the yellow Buttons Galore button to the teal flower center, and the large Bo Bunny bling to the center of the orange flower.

--Next I positioned the leaves where I wanted then glued them down as well.

--I mounted the little photo on white cardstock like I did the large photo then inked it before adhering it using pop-dots like pictured.

--Last thing I did was added the title work using Thickers from American Crafts and cardstock stickers by Bo Bunny.

Happy Independence Day!

Happy 4th everyone! Hope you have a fabulous day with family and friends and fireworks! We've kept things pretty low-key around here this weekend. The girls and I did get to squeeze in some crafty time on Saturday while the littles were napping. T-shirts were on sale at Michael's so we decorated some shirts for the girls to wear to tonight's festivities at Liberty Park.

Here they are..... super excited and already asking to make Halloween shirts! HA! They turned out pretty cool huh? They sell bottles of t-shirt spray paint at Micheal's that's like glimmer mist but for fabric and in bigger bottles. Here's a link so you can see what we used. We also found some fabric glue so the girls could glue on buttons and bling and ribbon to their shirts as well.

Then I took a super creative shot of the girls all creating a star with their hands. Bailee is the one who suggested this and is pretty proud of herself. I think it's fun! I played with the coloring and some brushes on it obviously. LOL Okay..... come back tomorrow and I will share some more cards with you but until then..... be safe today and enjoy your familt time.

Wow! It's been a while since I've stopped by! I don't usually go this long before checking in but it has been extra crazy here lately. It's that fabulous, exciting, insane part of the year in the scrapbooking industry where manufacturers are frantically trying to get everything ready and perfect for CHA. For those of you who have NO IDEA what that is.... It stands for Craft and Hobby Association. This time of year is fun for me to be able to create projects using new and not yet revealed products to be showcased at the CHA tradeshow! Sooooooo...... this is why I've been a little non-existent lately.

I did manage to squeeze in some time this weekend to create this card. I've also provided the pattern for it in case you want to give it a whirl yourself. LOL And if you do.... I always love to see what's created using my patterns so pretty please link back here in the comments! Thanks bunches!

**EDITED TO ADD*..... I totally meant to link to the fence I used on this card. It's just a wood fence I found at Hobby Lobby for cheap then cut down to the size I needed. I sanded it a bit then inked it a little too before gluing it to my card. Here's a link to it. :)

I am telling you....... NO MATTER how many times you see your work in print..... this NEVER GETS OLD and NOT exciting! At least that's how it is for me anyway. I've been plugging away in this big, HUGE world of scrapbooking for 8+ years now and submitting to magazine calls when I can. Never over-obsessing about it. Trying out for various design teams here and there. Always pretty content with where I was and what I was doing. I've been super-blessed with a creative talent that so many other amazing women out there posess also! It's soooo fun and exciting to have an online community of crafters and scrapbookers who "get" this fascination with paper and scissors! I've gained some amazing online friendships because of it. The other thing that NEVER gets old is a fellow-scrapper giving you a shout-out and pat on the back telling you "Woot! Woot!"

Sooooooo..... thanks my sweet online girlfriends! For all the "Woot! Woots!" over the years! You ALWAYS make me smile! okay..... wanna see why I am extra excited today???

I just got my Scrapbooks Etc. magazine in the mail today and was completely blown away with this full-page Bo Bunny ad where they used this Liberty album I designed for one of their many awesome kits. How fun right?

Speaking of over-obsessing...... I have a confession..... You're totally gonna laugh. There is one thing in the scrappy world I tend to get a bit too creatively and emotionally wrapped up in.

Papers Crafts Gallery Idol contest.

There.... I admit it. It's that time of year again and the open auditions round is going on right now.

You can read more about it here. I have made it to the TOP 5 of this competition for the last 3 consecutive years and had completely made my mind up that I was done. No more Gallery Idol for me! Then the crazy ladies behind the scenes over there at PC had to go and give away a Grand Prize that no paper crafter in their right mind would even THINK about not at least TRYING for!

Word Art Freebies

I love making word art for random projects. They are so much fun for cards or tags for gifts... whatever really! Sometimes I don't have the perfect rub-on or sticker and need multiples that I can just print so I'm going to start keeping them here. Then I can share with my online scrappy friends too. So I've been a busy little card maker the last couple days. Trying to use up some "scraps" on my table and also created with a few of the Card Kits that I designed for Bo Bunny. I've also been trying to round up all the cards I make that get thrown on different piles in my scrappy space so I can stock up my ETSY shop that is looking so pathetic right now. LOL But that's a good thing.

That just means someone likes my stuff right? :) Anyhooooo..... here's a few of the cards I've made. And at some point today some of them will go in the shop.
(sorry....... they got bought up before I could list them! More coming soon!)

OH!!!! And I just want to add that some of the cards from the kits I DID change up a bit because I wanted to make more Birthday and Father's Day themed cards. Also.... if you love Spellbinders and you own Labels Eighteen (one of my personal faves) then you will want to save this Word Art birthday sentiment I created to fit perfectly inside this die template. I used it on my first card here.

This is my version using Echo Park Little Boy papers. In the Clouds and Cool Stripe.
I also used Labels Twenty S5-026 Nestabilities Die Templates from Spellbinders. My favorite way to accent the awesome embossed feature is by sanding the papers a bit around the shape before adhering it to my project. And of course you can't have too many layers right? I created some Word Art to fit perfectly in the Labels Twenty die and to match the theme for my card. I've posted that here for you to save to your computer and maybe use on a card of your own.

Chore Board featuring "Liberty"

So it was my turn to post on the Bo Bunny Blog yesterday and we are blog hopping today. I created a fun project. Something that was inspired by a friend's status on Facebook last week. She has two small boys and wanted a chore board to hang in her home that was functional AND cute.

I found some free clipart online to use for the chore symbols since her smallest child can't read very well. One boy has the red stars and the other has blue. They have strong magnets on the back of each star so they stick well to the 12x12 metal sheet that I covered with the Liberty papers. I found this for only $5.00 at Lowe's. I've shared some close-up shots of this project here and on the Bo Bunny blog.

Now that summer is pretty much here..... I MAY just have to make something similar for my kiddos.
They would be sooooo excited! < --------- can you hear the sarcasm? LOL

Nana's Brag Book

As I was looking through my photo box this weekend, I couldn’t help but notice the excessive amount of wallet sized photos I had. When I print my pictures I like to have a set of wallets because I just love working with that size. Especially if I want to enhance a larger photo on a layout. But with my Grandma’s or “Nana’s” birthday coming up quick…. it hit me that these little wallets would pair up perfectly with all the fabulous Journaling Spots from My Mind’s Eye to create a small little Brag Book gift. So here it is…. Can’t wait to wrap it up and ship it to Nana!

Always Together

This layout is being featured over at My Mind's Eye today. YAY!!!!

I didn’t have any recent photos of my kids and I together but when I saw this adorable photo that my friend Renee took, I just knew I had to scrap it! This is our friend Angela and her sweet boy Sims. She’s a single Momma and a Southern Belle by the very definition.

I’ve watched her over the last few years that we’ve known each other and love the relationship she and Sims have. That’s what was so awesome about this photo to me….. you can see the happiness they share. Little Sims, with his arms tightly wrapped around his Momma like he’s never letting go.

I hope when I’m older that my kids will still want to be near me and hugging on me like they still do. That’s all I want. That’s what will tell me if I’ve been a great parent…… I want my kids to stay close to me. (Thanks for the sweet photo Renee, Angela, and Sims!) It was fun scrapping it and thinking about my own role as a Mom. Oh…. And in case you don’t notice…. I created a fun tag for Angela to write a note to Sims on and it’s tucked in behind the photo. Some Hidden journaling if you will.

****Also.... I need to mention that I created this layout based on last week's Sketchy Thursday's sketch! Thanks for the inspiration ladies!

Operation Ribbons & Flowers

Okay! I don't ask for help from my scrappy friends very often but if you can help me out with this I will be forever grateful! And there's a little something in it for you too!!! ♥ My girls are going to girls camp with our church the first week in June. Along with almost 100 other 12-16yr old girls! SOOOO fun right??? Well, they ...will be doing some craft projects that will require ribbon and flowers of all kinds. We need flowers that are 2 inches and bigger. Can be big.... just not smaller than 2 inches across. Any color! And we need as much ribbon of any color as we can round up as well! These are things I KNOW every scrapbooker/crafter has in their stash and it doesn't cost much to stuff in an envelope and mail. If you help donate to our Church's Youth Group.... once I receive your package, I will enter your name into a drawing for a BIG Scrappy prize worth over $100.00!!!!! Sooo.... I'm buried in creative "work" that HAS to get done but it's ALL really good stuff! Card kits will ship in a few days.... sorry for the delay. It's been crazy between designing new stuff for Bo Bunny and fighting the flu and a nasty sinus infection all week.

BUT...... tonight.... I have to admit.....

I literally pushed aside the stuff on my table and made a quick card for ME! Just because. I haven't created something "for fun" in sometime and I promise you for my Mojo's sake.... this is a very good thing. It feels good to stop and take a much needed creative breath then go back at it. Plus.... I don't want ya'll to think I'm neglecting my fun new blog. :) Anyhooooo.... here's the card a made tonight.

I was inspired by this challenge over at the Hero Arts blog. I love their stamps and their Flickr Pool. I'm always inspired when I find time to check in there. And the women have huge hearts..... it's a great place. Okay... back to my card. I guess you could call this a "hybrid" card because I used this Hero Arts DigiKit to print out and stamp my flags on. I also printed and cut a border for along the bottom of the card. But there's some traditional scrappy goodies on this too! My fave! Oh and you can save this STAR pattern if you want. It's come in handy for many different projects.

So I've been madly creating and designing for the next Bo Bunny release. Our older 5 were with their "other parents" today so Shane and I have been chasing around the littles. We took them to the park for a little while this afternoon and when I was out I stopped and snapped a couple of photographs of this Cross that is super beautiful and impressive. This church decorates it for the holidays but for Easter each year they cover every inch of it with fresh flowers. So ALL DAY long on Easter Sunday you will see people stopping to take pictures. IT'S HUGE. It's probably at least 15-18 feet tall and who knows how wide. I've been meaning to get a picture of it myself and finally did. So pretty.

And then I found this photo on a friend's Facebook page this morning. Love it and how it perfectly displays the spiritual significance of this Easter holiday. I'm soooo far from perfect. So I'm especially grateful for Christ's atonement and the HOPE it renews my life with on a daily basis. I hope that you each had a blessed day with the ones you love! Happy Easter! ♥

Call me CrAzY but it's time for a change!

I started blogging around my 30th birthday and am turning 38 in just a few short weeks! It seems surreal to think I've been doing this for 8 yrs pretty dang consistently. In the last eight years I've never had a "Face Lift" on My Next Thirty Years. Well..... It's long over due and I'm excited to have a fresh, new place on the web. I hope you will continue to check in with me! And I hope to continue to inspire you with fun new creations!

I've been super, crazy busy since returning from my trip to AZ and am trying to get back on top of things. I should have my April Card Kit PEEKS ready to post tomorrow so check back. Sorry for the delay on that!
